About Me
Kristin Sellke
In 2000 I graduated from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana, with a BFA in Art Eduation. The knowledge of Art Therapy was discovered earlier in my studies at U of I, finalizing my end goal for a career. I worked diligently to fill all psychology requirements to step into the world as a graduate student in art therapy upon graduation.
I left the Midwest not only to study Art Therapy, but to also experience a different culture, broaden my senses, and to define my path of self discovery. I landed in Santa Fa, NM at Southwestern College. These years were defining for me for personal growth, but fundamental for who I am as a therapist today.
As much as I fell in love with the desert, I really missed the green grass the Midwest was able to blanket for me. I headed back, completing my internship at the University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center, working with bone marrow transplant patients. It was an honor to work with these beautiful humans in their most vulnerable time.
With 20 years of practice, I have earned continuing education credits and certifications in several different areas. Some of these areas include adoption, mindfulness, grief, traumatic stress studies, and polyvagal theory.
